On Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010 our dear friend and Networking Committee Co-Chair, Andy Ekstrom, passed away. Andy was truly an inspiration to Sacramento’s young professionals and was a key contributor to the inception, launch and current success of the Metro EDGE program.
His passion for this city was apparent in everything he did; from his work at the development firm Heller Pacific, to his involvement in the many organizations and charities he was part of. He had a genuine desire to connect people and strengthen Sacramento’s professional network. This is a tremendous loss, not just for his friends and family, but for the city as a whole. His radiant smile will not be forgotten, and he will be missed dearly.
A candle light vigil to honor Andy will be held at MARRS (20th & J) this Friday night, August 6th at 7:30pm. You are welcome to bring anything with you that holds a memory of him, or simply come to celebrate Andy with his friends and family.
