Fleishman-Hillard’s Sacramento office is seeking an energetic, self-starting PR Manager to join our thriving team. This is an exciting career opportunity for a PR/social media specialist with a passion for food and beverage related public relations and social media communications to work in a fast-paced practice.

Responsibilities:

Manage and execute consumer food and beverage related product promotions, ingredient programs, new product introductions, consumer nutrition education, and food safety/ security.
Contribute to the development of digital communication strategies for clients, and execute social media strategies and blogger outreach on behalf of clients.
Identify, cultivate and manage high-level relationships with food, wine and lifestyle bloggers, industry experts and influencers. Help shape client stories and messages, and actively pitch those communications to the blogger community with the goal of injecting the client into industry conversations.
Develop and edit high quality written materials, including media correspondence, client communications, bylines, recipes and nutrition abstracts.
Plan, conduct and oversee others in regional, national and trade media outreach.
Handle day-to-day project management and account administration.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidate will have 4-8 years of communications experience, with a strong working knowledge of the consumer food and nutrition space, preferably in an agency setting.
Experience across social media platforms such as microblogging (Twitter) and mobile location-based services (FourSquare) along with content sharing sites including Facebook, YouTube, Flickr and resources such as Quora or other online forums.
The ideal candidate is an active blogger and/or has active relationships with other bloggers and the online food/wine/lifestyle community in general. Must have experience cultivating relationships with bloggers on the basis of trust, integrity and accessibility.
Proven understanding of business, consumer and lifestyle media, and well-developed-skills in building and maintaining traditional and digital media relationships. A demonstrated hands-on media approach is required.
Excellent writing abilities with experience in all forms of written communication.
Strong presentation skills with ability to interact with client on a day-to-day basis.
Ideal candidate must be energetic, a self-starter and problem solver; gets things moving, keeps them on track, and understands how to switch gears when needed.
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, nutrition, or a related field.
