Where do you currently work, how long have you been there, what do you do? I work with Oates Investments | Cable & Kilpatrick and have been here for 9 ½ years. We are a commercial development and property management company. I have filled a number of roles but for the last year, I have been managing our operations and am currently in the process of assuming the Asset Management role.
Prior to that? I worked in Accounting for a non-profit organization and coached high school soccer for 9 years.
What is your educational background? I have a Master’s of Business Administration (UC Davis’ Graduate School of Management has a great program!) and prior to that, I received my Bachelor’s in Business Management.
What is the best part of your job? I like many aspects of my job. I think my situation is unique in that I not only like my job, but I also like my coworkers! Equally as important, my job is consistently challenging. Growth and development are important to me. Additionally, I appreciate the balance between individual projects and working with people.
What do you love about living here? I always tell people that Sacramento is the best geographical place to live! It provides easy access to Lake Tahoe, San Francisco, Napa Valley and Yosemite … places that people travel from all over the world to visit and we have them in our backyard! Plus, I love running and Sacramento has the greatest trail in the American River Parkway.
What is one thing that might surprise people about you? I love sports! I enjoy cheering on our Sacramento Kings, Rivercats, Republic, San Francisco Giants, 49ers and San Jose Sharks as often as I can … in person, on TV or listening on the radio. I can’t get enough!
When you aren't in the office where can we find you? Eating, Running (I balance one unhealthy habit with another!) or Hanging out with family.
