You’ve taken the first step of your professional development and joined Metro EDGE. It was something your boss said would be helpful, or you saw the overwhelming value in membership, or you like connecting with local leaders and aspire to become one yourself through our many EDGE Forums and events. But now what? What actually is Metro EDGE?
Metro EDGE is for everyone. EDGE is everyone, and any young professional in the Sacramento region should be involved. And that’s why we developed a special team to help you transition into all things EDGE. The Ambassadors are one of the first points of contact new EDGE members will have. This team is your ally in navigating all of the programs, leadership and volunteer opportunities, and networking events Metro EDGE hosts. Our Ambassador team meets with all new members and introduces them to the many opportunities to become local leaders.
We would like to introduce our new class of Metro EDGE Ambassadors! These folks know the ins-and-outs of where EDGE can best support your journey, but also how you can give back to future young professionals in Sacramento. It could be one of our many committees or just helping spread the hype. Whatever you want or need, our Ambassadors are the ones to make sure EDGE is an ally for you.
Without further adieu, here are our new Metro EDGE Ambassadors for 2020 and a brief note from them on why they’ve chosen to be ambassadors:
Noel Leckemby, Beat The Room - It's overwhelming enough to walk into a mixer and not see a familiar face. I joined the ambassador program because it helps create bonds between new members, existing members, and the organization, relieving some of that social anxiety! I look forward to watching the bonds that are started in the ambassador program flourish throughout Metro EDGE!
Reagan Ballo, Five Star Bank - I applied to become a Metro EDGE Ambassador as a way to engage in a more meaningful manner with the young professional community here in Sacramento. I’ve been a Metro EDGE member for 1 year and am excited to share my EDGE experience with the new members joining this organization. I’m looking forward to meeting the new faces of Metro EDGE and helping them navigate through all EDGE has to offer!
Danielle Henderson, United Way California Capital Region - I am a Sacramento region native working as a corporate fundraiser at United Way California Capital Region. This is my second year as a Metro EDGE member and I also serve on the Emerge Summit committee! I look forward to supporting Metro EDGE's growth and creating a comfortable space to meet new people in the Sacramento region.
Andrew Shannon, Goodwin Consulting Group, Inc. – As an EDGE Ambassador, I strive to work with new members to discuss and discover all of the wonderful opportunities Metro EDGE and the city of Sacramento offers. No matter your personal interests or professional industry, I truly believe there is something for everyone in this organization and city that will take your career to new heights. Let's get to work in making the Sacramento region a better place to live, work, grow, and do business.
Laura Rincon, JumpStart Now - I know the feeling of walking into an event without knowing anyone. It's terrifying! I applied for the Ambassador position because I'd like to make new members feel connected to the organization, as well as help them navigate through everything we offer at Metro EDGE.
Now that you’ve met our new EDGE Ambassadors, look out for them at future EDGE events and be sure to say “hi.” They’re excited to connect with you, introduce you to fellow YPs, and help you find what you’re looking for out of EDGE. #EDGE4ALL
