EDGEucational Forum: Did That Just Happen? How to Respond Effectively to Microaggressions in the Workplace

At Metro EDGE, we believe all people should have the ability to feel belonging at their workplaces and equal opportunities to elevate into leadership positions.

That's why we're excited to invite you to a major upgrade of the standard annual harassment training. Many workplace trainings include a list of what not to do and what to avoid. But if we're being real (and you know we're going to be), there's still a lot of potential for less obvious remarks and actions to negatively impact yourself and others' career trajectories. In many corporate settings, norms are not inclusive of all cultures and demographics. This leads to barriers to promotion, and eventually, a lack of representation in the C-suite I.e. the decision-makers.

Our goal is to empower the young professional community in our region to lead in challenging situations, especially in the realms of inclusion and belonging.

We invite you to a workshop that provides an overview of microaggressions, training on how to respond, and tools for ongoing reflection as we look to lead for all in the rest of our careers. Don't be shy; no prior knowledge/context is needed. #EDGE4ALL
