Meet the 2024 Leadership Council!

The Metro EDGE Leadership Council (LC) is a group of young professionals who volunteer their time and passion towards building programming for the Metro EDGE community! Metro EDGE’s committees are also led by LC members. Committees are comprised of member volunteers who meet once a month to set goals, plan events, and empower the membership as a whole. Joaquin Razo, 2024 Program Chair

Blue Zones, LLC

Joaquin serves as Project Solutions Lead for the Blue Zones, LLC national team, supporting and leading team members as they transform well-being in communities across the United States. Prior, Joaquin served as Executive Director for Blue Zones Project Upper Napa Valley. Working with a dynamic team, Blue Zones Project works in community to build environments where the healthy choice, is the easy choice, by supporting the local population, policy advancement, and workplace and organizational systems. At the end of the day Blue Zones strives to build communities where we all live better, longer, together. Joaquin also served as the Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer for the St. Helena Chamber of Commerce in Napa Valley. Working with over 200 member-businesses ranging from large international winery brands to small local boutique stores.

Joaquin comes to us with over fifteen years of organizational planning/restructuring; non-profit fundraising; diversity, inclusion & belonging integration; and strategic planning. Born in San Francisco and raised in Sacramento, Joaquin has a passion for giving back to Northern California. He has served non-profits and various organizations in multiple roles from volunteer, staff member, consultant and board member, including United Way California Capital Region, University of San Francisco’s Latinx Alumni Society and Chair/Co-Founder of USF’s PRIDE Alumni, Vox Musica, Sac Metro Chamber Foundation, Sacramento’s Metro EDGE and more. He is a graduate of the University of San Francisco’s McLaren School of Management and was highlighted as a top graduating Changemaker. As well as a graduate of Gonzaga University with a master’s in organizational leadership with a concentration in Global Leadership. He was a Gonzaga scholar and given the opportunity to studying in Belgium with the Brussels European Forum sponsored by NATO headquarters.

Engagement Committee

The Engagement Committee works to create the best experience for Metro EDGE members and guests by identifying what YPs want from their membership, hosting exciting events, and managing communications to position Metro EDGE as the go-to organization for the 40-and-under professionals in the Sacramento region.

Katie Durham, Engagement Co-chair 

California Manufacturers & Technology Association

Katie brings a wealth of experience in communications and public engagement to her professional life, with a strong emphasis on engaging communities in local and regional projects. A graduate of California State University, Chico, Katie’s early professional career was dedicated to community outreach and engagement, particularly in the realms of land use, transportation, and construction-focused projects. Her commitment to community development led her to serve as a Resource and Development Manager at a non-profit, where she played a vital role in providing marketing and communications expertise to ensure the growth in both organizational presence and direct services to families in Yolo County.

Currently, Katie serves as a co-chair on the Engagement Committee for the young professionals’ group, Metro EDGE, within the Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce. In addition to this role, she actively contributes to shaping the local business landscape as a member of the Woodland Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Katie’s dedication to addressing the unique challenges and opportunities within her community underscores her commitment to making a positive impact on local and regional issues. Outside of work, Katie spends her time exploring the State of California, on foot or bike, and keeps an active sense of curiosity in community events and gatherings.

Madison Burton, Engagement Co-chair

California Counties Foundation

Madison works with the California Counties Foundation as an Administrative Assistant and works closely with the CSAC Institute on administrative, programming, and fiscal needs of the organization. Before becoming a part of CSAC, she worked at the California Restaurant Association as the Legislative Coordinator and was responsible for planning their Lobby Day, which allowed members to speak with their elected officials. She is a Sacramento native who loves exploring all that the Sacramento-Metro area has to offer. Madison is excited to join Metro EDGE and help build an amazing event that will embolden others to take charge of their futures.

Haley Rose, Engagement Co-chair (Communications Lead)

VSP Vision

Haley was raised in the Sacramento area and is proud to call the Farm-to-Fork Capital home (even though it’s always the City of Trees). A graduate of San Jose State University’s College of Mass Communications, Haley has a strong background in the communications field and is currently a Content Specialist for the Doctor Communications team at VSP Vision, focusing on creating content and leveraging strategic storytelling to support over 30,000 eye doctors. As Haley enters her second year as the Metro EDGE Communications Committee Lead, she oversees all communications channels to elevate the EDGE brand and support Sacramento young professionals’ personal and professional development.

Haley is also engaged in other programs of the Sacramento Metro Chamber Foundation as a member of the Leadership Sacramento Class of 2024 and the BoardLink young professional representative for the Downtown Sacramento Partnership, highlighting her commitment to the betterment of the Sacramento region.

Development Committee 

One of the core values of Metro EDGE is to cultivate the Sacramento region’s next generation of professionals. The Development Committee works to offer professional development and career advancement opportunities for Metro EDGE YPs by creating content and engaging with members.

Cameron Gallad, Development Co-chair

3fold Communications

Cameron Gallad is currently an Account Executive at 3fold Communications where his focus is on business strategy, consulting, and project management. He works with clients in the Public Services, Healthcare, and Education sectors. Cameron is also an entrepreneur and co-founder of a law-tech startup. He is a Certified Scrum Master who is working toward achieving his Project Management Professional Certification (PMP). Cameron enjoys working on projects that have community impact. Before working with 3fold, he worked in the electrification space, specifically focused on transportation and electrifying distribution fleets. He also spent time working for government departments focused on law and justice. Cameron has grown up in the Sacramento region and enjoys connecting with individuals within the community and bringing people together for a common cause. He is looking forward to being a part of the Metro EDGE leadership team and helping young professionals develop their skills, knowledge, and professional brand.

Roxana Humphreys Moreno, Development Co-chair

California Chamber of Commerce

Roxana is originally from Venezuela and moved to Sacramento last year after living in the Pacific Northwest for seven years. She is a proud Oregon Duck and moved to Sacramento to be closer to family and advance her career as an Event Manager for the California Chamber of Commerce. Previously, Roxana worked as the Events and Programs Coordinator for the Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce. In her role, she not only planned events but also collaborated on initiatives for underrepresented communities. She is passionate about supporting Latinos in the community and served as an advisor for the Latino Professionals Network in Eugene.

Additionally, she participated in the fundraising committee for PRIDE Eugene and served as an advisor for a local housing non-profit fundraiser. Roxana graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Processes from Venezuela. She also graduated from the Culinary Arts & Hospitality Program at Lane Community College. In her free time, Roxana enjoys exploring the Sacramento food scene, hiking, or visiting wineries with her husband and three-year-old son, Marcus.

Empowerment Committee

The Empowerment Committee is dedicated to inspiring, amplifying, and empowering the next generation of leaders through: programming aimed to propel YPs toward fulfilling their career aspirations and fostering inclusive environments with a focus on DEIB, showcasing the stories and experiences of YPs and regional leaders, celebrating their achievements and contributions, and creating volunteer and philanthropic opportunities to make a lasting impact on our region.

Janette Cruz, Empowerment Co-chair (Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Lead)

SMUD

Janette Cruz grew up in Milpitas, CA and set up roots in Sacramento after completing her B.S. in Community & Regional Development with UC Davis and MBA at their Graduate School of Management (GSM) focusing on Org Behavior, Analytics & Leadership. Looking to further challenge herself to further develop and make an impact in the region, she became a Senior Fellow with the Nehemiah Emerging Leaders Program (NELP), Class IX. Never done learning… Janette received her Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion certification from Cornell University in 2023.

Janette has been a Pizza Hut manager, Fashion Line Receptionist, attempted 3 years of a Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior major, failed Lab Tech, awarded CalPERS business analyst and manager. In her current role as Sacramento Municipal Utility District’s (SMUD) Enterprise Performance team lead she manages and monitors the enterprise portfolio coordination and escalation of enterprise projects. Janette enjoys navigating the systemic intersections of governance, social, culture, and data.

Janette stands for authenticity, humility, and self-actualization driving collaborative understanding, approaches, and solutions. She brings structure to chaos, enables candid environments, and can “Kevin Bacon” her way into the most random things! She has been married for 13 years & together for over 20 years to her husband Bryan. They enjoy life with their 2 Pitbulls and preschool agent of both chaos and structure, James.

Ryan Advincula, Empowerment Co-chair

UC Davis College of Letters and Science

Ryan Advincula was born and raised in Sacramento and is passionate about helping grow the community. He is an Assistant Director of Development at UC Davis’ College of Letters and Science and works in alumni relations and major gift fundraising. Previously, he worked in database management and fundraising for nonprofits in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Ryan has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Theater and Performance Studies from UC Berkeley. He is also currently an MBA candidate at the UC Davis Graduate School of Management. Ryan can usually be found playing basketball, board games, and bass guitar when he’s free.

Nancy Eldred, Empowerment Co-chair

Randle Communications

Nancy is a Sacramento native with a passion for personal and professional growth and serves as Co-Chair for Empowerment. She works in communications as an Account Manager at Randle Communications. Outside of the office, Nancy enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
