The ‘Spring Soiree’ held at the swanky Hyatt Regency Pool brought together Sacramento’s ambitious professionals and confirmed MetroEdge’s growing power within the region.
Attendees were greeted with freshly prepared eats and the option to kick-off their 9-to-5 shoes and relax in flip-flops. Hyatt’s poolside was sprinkled with beautiful decor, lanterns, floral centerpieces and even included a custom build-your-own smores station to satisfy those with a sweet tooth. Between hand shakes, business card swapping and “Hey, I know you from somewhere?!” dialogue, attendees were serenaded by local musician Ryan Hernandez’s low-key acoustic rhythms.
MetroEdge Leadership took time to reflect on the group’s successes over the last year, highlighting that the organization is more than 400 members strong and has over 600 volunteer hours in just eight months. "Both the Hyatt and the EDGE members in attendance showed that they genuinely care about affecting real, positive and lasting change in our region. THESE are the people YOU want to know." stated Autumn Heacox.
Acknowledging this growth, Mayor Kevin Johnson stopped by to meet-and-greet Edgers. The Mayor has been an advocate for the organization since its inception, and the crowd was delighted to update him on our business development programs and philanthropic efforts. Other special guests at the Soiree included Sacramento Metro Chamber Chair, Randy Sater and Andy “the Midtown Manther” Ekstrom.
What’s a member appreciation event without raffles? Raksha Sharma of the Reznick Group won one year of free EDGE membership and Lisa Kaplan of L & B Associates, LLP won the referral raffle prize of 2 years of free EDGE membership and 2 years of free EDGE events.
A big thanks to the Sacramento Hyatt for sponsoring the event. The newly remodeled Hyatt (over $15 million spent on updated rooms and facilities) plans to have future poolside events including Summer 2nd Sunday Poolside Gatherings.
Although bikinis, Speedos and cannon-bombs were not permitted, the ‘Spring Soiree” still made a splash!
