Sacramento moves forward with private parking proposal

In what Mayor Kevin Johnson later described as mostly “ceremonial,” Sacramento city leaders on Tuesday night unanimously selected the bidders that they think are most qualified to run the city’s parking operations — if the city decides to go that route to help pay for a new downtown arena. After the meeting, Metro EDGE chairman Sean O’Brien said the vote was a "huge step" in getting a new arena in Sacramento."A new facility will not only attract new investment opportunities to our region, but keep the downtown area desirable for local businesses to continue to thrive," O'Brien said in a statement.
