Where do you currently work, how long have you been there, what do you do?
I just recently passed the one year mark as the West Coast Communications Manager for HealthCorps, a non profit co-founded by Dr. Oz and his wife Lisa to combat the childhood obesity epidemic. I do a broad variety of work at HealthCorps, covering everything from traditional communications and press to event planning and partner relations.
Prior to that?
Prior to HealthCorps I had a internship with Mercury Public Affairs.
What is your educational background?
I have a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a focus in pubic relations and a minor in international relations from Chico State.
What is the best part of your job?
The best part of my job is the time I get to spend with students, hearing their HealthCorps stories and listening to their plans for the future.
What do you love about living here?
Sacramento is my hometown and what I love most is, even after living here for years, I can still find new things to do. I am never bored!
What is one thing that might surprise people about you?
I helped pay for college by working on a ranch the summers between semesters and spent the majority of my time on horseback chasing cows or on a tractor in the fields.
When you aren't in the office where can we find you?
If I’m not in the office I could be anywhere, but the drive-in movies and the pool are much-frequented favorites during the summer.
