Metro EDGE 2014 Chair Emilie Cameron Excited to Lead Young Professionals Group
SACRAMENTO – Metro EDGE, the young professional program of the Sacramento Metro Chamber, today announced its 2014 Leadership Council. Chaired by Emilie Cameron, senior public relations manager at 3fold Communications, Metro EDGE represents nearly 500 40-and-under young professionals working together to improve the Sacramento region through engagement, professional development, philanthropy and empowerment on issues affecting young professionals.
“I’m honored to chair Metro EDGE and represent a new generation of leaders in Sacramento,” said Cameron. “There are a number of opportunities for young professionals to influence the development of catalyst projects including a new downtown arena, the railyards, and the implementation of the Next Economy prosperity plan. It’s my goal to make sure our voice is heard and heeded.”
Named one of Sacramento’s Top 40 Under 40 by the Sacramento Business Journal in 2012, Cameron graduated from the University of California, Davis in 2004. A founding member of Metro EDGE, she is also an active board member of the Sacramento Public Relations Association (SPRA), serves as an ambassador for St. John’s Shelter Program for Women & Children as a member of St. John’s Circle and several local community organizations.
“Emilie is exactly the right person to further establish Metro EDGE and its members as key players in Sacramento’s economic development,” said James Beckwith, president and CEO of Five Star Bank and 2014 Board Chair of the Sacramento Metro Chamber. “Metro EDGE is an important program of the chamber and I look forward to working with Emilie and the entire Metro EDGE membership to establish a thriving region for young professionals.”
