Where do you currently work, how long have you been there, what do you do? For the past nine months, I’ve been working at Sacramento State in the Academic Advising & Career Center. As the Employer Relations Coordinator, I help employers connect to campus and promote job development. I also help educate Sac State students on the skills necessary to obtain internships and careers.
Prior to that? I spent 6 years with Northwestern Mutual working on campus and full-time recruitment. I also worked on the development and structure of the internship program.
What is your educational background? I have a BS in Marketing from Iowa State University.
What is the best part of your job? I get to use my past experience in recruitment to relate to employers on campus while feeding my passion for helping students discover and improve skills to make their career objectives a reality.
What do you love about living here? Pretty much everything! I moved to Sacramento 4 years ago from Iowa with intentions of always moving back….it’s safe to say I am officially a Sacramentian and am not going anywhere! I love that the city is small enough yet big enough; there are endless things to do and beautiful weather to boot!
What is one thing that might surprise people about you? I was in show choir all through high school and can do a mean box step with dishpan hands!
When you aren't in the office where can we find you? It’s likely that I will be in the kitchen cooking and baking and preparing to entertain friends, on my cruiser with my hunny roaming the streets of east sac and midtown in search of good food and drink, or on the bike trail with my road bike.
