Part of what makes the Sacramento region such an amazing place to live is our young professionals’ commitment to bettering our community through philanthropic engagement. We lend a hand to our neighbors, share our knowledge and experience, and connect like-minded individuals.
Is your nonprofit interested in partnering with Metro EDGE in 2016, or do you know of a nonprofit that is? EDGE is in the process of choosing our 2016 beneficiary, and this year we are doing it a little differently. EDGE is asking interested nonprofits to pitch us on Facebook. We are especially interested in nonprofits focused on alleviating homelessness, providing food access to the underserved, or improving transportation and transit options in the urban core.
Post of Intent
From November 2 through November 16, 2015, we are asking local nonprofits to post on EDGE’s Facebook page your intent to partner with EDGE, and why we should choose you. EDGE will then contact each nonprofit through Facebook Direct Message with a link to apply. In your Facebook post, we ask that you include the following:
- A short description of your needs
- Why we should choose you
- the hashtag #EDGEgivesback
EDGE’s philanthropic goals
As our membership grows, so does our span of outreach. We are committed to giving back to the community through leadership opportunities, volunteer engagement, and fundraising support for a designated charity. Although monetary donations may be ideal, we are looking to partner with an organization whose mission and vision aligns with EDGE, and will benefit from the following:
- Desire to connect with a YP audience
- Skills-based volunteering
- Board and committee opportunities
- Event volunteer opportunities (minimum of 4 activities)
- Creative fundraising events
Interested Applicants
All interested applicants must be a local 501(c)(3) and have the capacity to engage with Metro EDGE membership throughout 2016. The selected beneficiary will be notified mid-December.
