If you haven’t figured it out by now, we love to celebrate our weekends in Sacramento. So when we saw Metro EDGE issue the #EDGE916 “Best Weekend Ever” challenge – nine events, one weekend, six young professionals – we had to try it out. But really? ONLY nine events? ONLY six professionals?
With so many amazing things to do in Sacramento (See list of 101 to do this summer) and so many girls doing amazing things on the grid, we had a hard time narrowing down the plans for our upcoming weekend. Check out @metroedge on Instagram or Twitter to follow the adventures of Leia, Michelle, Chelsea, Kearsten, Jamee and Chantel as they celebrate their “Best Weekend Ever!”
FRIDAY, June 19
In proper Friday spirit, Girls on the Grid will have a bocce ball throw down at The Federalist (event one) and then bike over to Concerts in the Park to jam with Kenny the Dancing Man (event two).
SATURDAY, June 20
Our Yoga Sherpa, Michelle, will be up bright and early in the morning teaching a flow at Soil Born Farms (event three), Chantel (and our lovely Laura) will be wine tasting in Amador (event four) and Chelsea will be sharing pro-tips on taking public transit to visit her favorite arena and watch the Oakland A’s win a game (fingers crossed for a celebratory event five)!
SUNDAY, June 21
No Sunday feels right without a cappuccino from Insight Coffee. Follow Leia as she visits Insight Coffee’s Southside location and wanders through the Sunday Farmers Market to look for tasty, in-season veggies (event six). Join some Father’s Day baseball fun with the River Cats (event seven) or, if you’re more interested in the brewery tour, Kearsten will be repping Girls on the Grid at the Father’s Day Triple Play: Beer, Bluegrass and BBQ at Ruhstaller Farm and Yard (event eight). But if wine suits your fancy, don’t worry, Chelsea will be working at Old Sugar Mill’s “Grapes and Grub” event – don’t miss it!
