SACRAMENTO – Metro EDGE Chair Ryan Porter delivered the following statement today in response to news the Sacramento Kings have finalized a deal that would move the team to Seattle:
“Although the Maloofs have announced an agreement to sell their controlling interest in the Sacramento Kings to a Seattle-based investment group, Metro EDGE and the Sacramento community have not given up yet. Sacramento is a proven NBA market. I’m reassured to know that Mayor Johnson and the region’s business leaders are working as hard as possible to develop an alternative option that will keep the Kings in Sacramento long term. We won’t give up until the NBA has made its final decision in April and until then, Sacramento is Playing to Win.”
